The International Space Station is one of the more incredible feats of engineering society has produced, floating in zero gravity around 400 km above the Earth's surface. While many of us will never get to experience life this far away from Earth, those that are lucky enough to be up there are now able to capture spectacular imagery for our viewing pleasure.
NASA's team aboard the International Space Station has just received a brand new Red Epic Dragon camera, allowing them to capture footage inside and outside the Station at a huge resolution of 6144 x 3160. This means that, for the first time, we can enjoy ultra high definition footage from the ISS at 4K.
So far NASA has posted just a few videos from the ISS recorded at 4K: one that shows the reaction between an effervescent tablet and a water bubble in zero gravity; and another that shows a range of footage including the Station's inhabitants at work as well as amazing shots of the Earth's weather effects.
If you like seeing videos from space, these new 4K videos are well worth the watch. NASA says more like this are on the way, and the crew will also be utilizing the Epic Dragon's 300 frame per second recording capabilities for cool slow motion videos in the future.
