Microsoft introduces new Arrow Launcher exclusively for Android users

Just a few days before the anticipated Windows 10 arrives, Microsoft has introduced a new Arrow Launcher, specifically for Android devices. According to Microsoft News, the latest app is currently in private beta, meaning users cannot download it without an invite. Users can join the Arrow Launcher Beta group on Google+ or download the APK file to give it a try. The report shed light on its features as well.
For starters, the Arrow Launcher offers a new interface and includes three pages namely People, Apps and Notes & Reminders. You cannot add or remove these pages. the The People page is where you will see your contacts as well as email accounts. The second one, is the Apps page which is the home page of the launcher. This includes the Recent section and the Frequent section. The recent section shows the recently installed apps while the Frequent section displays the apps which are used the most.

The Apps page is followed by the Notes & Reminders page which allows users to add reminders. It is similar to a note-taking app and the blog states that most custom Android Launchers don’t include this feature.
The new launcher does seem to have few limitations for instance, when it comes to customisation, users cannot choose a ustom icon pack or change the icon size for the apps. Also, one cannot add apps to the Frequently used apps section on the homepage. However, users can choose to have the daily Bing wallpaper as the default wallpaper.

Similar to most Android launchers, the Arrow launcher includes a ‘dock’ wherein users can easily access the most used apps. The dock features an arrow and swiping up will reveal another set of accessible apps and links to access the launcher’s Settings, Feedback and Wallpaper pages, the report points out.
Arrow Launcher beta is still a ‘work in progress’ so users can expect a few bugs and unusual behavior however, Microsoft News states, “there is room for improvements.”
